Numerous of organization have been working in Nepal from long back however, some of the
areas that remain a main concern in case of Underprivileged, Indigenous and Dalit girl
and women are – Clothing, Health, Education. Health and education of women and girls are two
main issues that loom large and continue to plague their development. While poverty, early
marriage, malnutrition, lack of hygienic menstrual practices and lack of healthcare during
pregnancy are some of major health related issues.

And we if talk about CLOTHING, no organizations have been able to shift their concern to this
issue, understanding that it is needed at the time of Disaster as a Disaster Relief Program but the
real scenario is that we do not need a disaster to CLOTH the Underprivileged, Indigenous and
Dalit girl child and women because major population is still way below the poverty line and are
pressed hard enough to think about fulfill their minimum clothing necessarily.

In the given scenario, the only way to bring about sustainable development in the poor condition
of underprivileged women and girls in the country is to empower them – with clothing, education
and good health. And a simultaneous approach is the need of the hour.
